Hey everyone! Daylight savings is upon us, or just ended, I can never remember which way around it goes, but either way I’m sleepy, so to stir myself awake I’ve looked into this week’s crop of Kickstarter games. I present to you three great titles that not only have already reached their funding goals but look set to please gamers when they finally reach the table. Let’s take a look!
Sushi Boat - Kickstarter
Japanese themed games are a favourite in our home, and Sushi Boat looks like it’ll find a place on our shelf. Brought to you by the same studio that created Krosmaster Arena and Tanto Cuore, Sushi Boat has players running a sushi restaurant, serving customers their selected dishes, receiving payment and disposing of uneaten plates. Where Sushi Boat stands out is in its wooden restaurant complete with conveyor belt upon which plastic plate tokens depicting various sushi dishes make their way around the customers. The sushi never stops, and each plate added to the boat pushes the next plate along one space, eventually uneaten plates will start dripping off the end of the conveyor belt and into the trash.
The wooden boat is a Kickstarter exclusive and won’t be available in the retail edition, so if you’re looking for the prettiest version of the game, this is your chance to pledge and secure your copy!
The Red Burnoose: Algeria 1857 - Kickstarter
This 1-4 player wargame follows the 1857 historical conflict between the invading French armies and the Kabyle villages in northern Algeria. Playable solo or cooperatively, The Red Burnoose: Algeria 1857 combines deck building, area control and dice rolling to depict the struggle between the two opponents. Each player represents a village or faction in the combined efforts to keep the French armies at bay. Unable to eradicate the French, the villagers are resolved to hold the line until the French army exhausts itself and turns back, resulting in victory for the players. Allowing too many villages to be captured will result in defeat for everyone.
The Red Burnoose delivers an innovative take on the traditional wargaming genre, resulting in a game that is as enticing to players new to the wargaming space as it is to veterans of the style. Check out the Kickstarter page to see for yourself!
Tiles of the Arabian Nights - Gamefound
Tiles of the Arabian Nights is a tile laying storytelling adventure game for 2-5 players. Providing a unique spin on the famous Tales of the Arabian Nights, Tiles of the Arabian Nights see players constructing stories by laying tiles, and bringing their own tales to life. Players explore the desert uncovering characters, events and treasures along the way. Gorgeous, colourful art design captures the spirit of the theme and brings the mysterious sands to life as players weave their own tales, drawing tiles, discovering story points and unveiling a glorious tapestry of their journey on the board.
The Kickstarter campaign features a free expansion for every backer increasing the number and types of tiles, so expect to encounter magic, monsters, genies and more as you and your gaming group work towards their story objectives. Sounds like it’s time to take a magic carpet ride!
That’s it for this week folks! I hope you found something to spark your imagination! I’ll be back later in the week with more bloggy goodness.
